About this concert
Siwoo Kim and violist Luke Fleming are the soloists in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, at the heart of a Classical program with Haydn’s “Surprise” Symphony and Beethoven’s First.
Close Encounters With Music brings the Vivace Orchestra, 26 soloists and chamber musicians under conductor Joshua Gerson, to the Mahaiwe for large-scale Classical repertoire rarely heard in South County. In the Sinfonia Concertante Mozart gave the viola a solo part of equal weight, an instrument he played himself.
