About this concert
The Manhattan Chamber Players give the world premiere of a new piano quartet by Andrea Casarrubios, framed by the piano quartets of Schumann and Brahms.
Casarrubios’s quartet, written in 2027, sits between Schumann’s Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47, and Brahms’s Piano Quartet No. 3 in C minor, Op. 60. The Manhattan Chamber Players, the New York collective founded in 2015 by violist and artistic director Luke Fleming, appear on Arizona Friends of Chamber Music’s Evening Series, with Siwoo Kim, a member of the collective, on violin. The concert is also streamed.
