About this concert
Frank Bridge’s Phantasy Piano Quartet, the West Coast premiere of Andrea Casarrubios’s new Piano Quartet, and Brahms’s F minor Piano Quintet, with the Manhattan Chamber Players at Sunset Center.
Casarrubios, a cellist as well as a composer, wrote her Piano Quartet in 2027; she also plays her SEVEN for solo cello, a tribute to essential workers during the pandemic. Bridge’s single-movement Phantasy dates from 1910, and Brahms’s Quintet, Op. 34, closes the evening. Siwoo Kim plays as a member of the Manhattan Chamber Players. A pre-concert talk begins an hour before.
