About this concert
The Crescent City Chamber Music Festival closes its eleventh season with Copland’s Appalachian Spring in its original scoring for thirteen players, led by Joshua Gersen.
The Manhattan Chamber Players, the festival’s ensemble in residence, fill the sanctuary of Rayne Memorial with music from the early twentieth century. Soprano Faylotte Joy Crayton sings songs by Frank Bridge and Ernest Chausson and Respighi’s Il tramonto, and Ravel’s Tzigane opens the afternoon. Siwoo Kim is among the violins. Luke Fleming gives a pre-concert talk at 3:30 pm.
