About this concert
By candlelight, the Lima Symphony Orchestra pairs Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Copland’s Appalachian Spring, with Siwoo Kim as soloist.
Echoes of Spring is the orchestra’s winter candlelight program, built around reflective, lyrical music. James Blachly, a candidate for the orchestra’s music director post, conducts; he also leads the Experiential Orchestra and the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra. Siwoo Kim plays the Mendelssohn Concerto in E minor, Op. 64. The program repeats the next afternoon in Minster.
